Project Management Institute, abbreviated PMI, has its headquarters in the United states, but is active all over the world. Project manager certification, according to PMI is based on knowledge regarding PMI standards, processes and terminology, as described in PMBoK (Project Management Body of Knowledge).
PMI certifies project managers at two levels.
- CAPM® - Certified Associate in Project Management
- PMP® - Project Management Professional
