At the intersection of finance and technology, Ann-Elisabeth has found a job she can grow old in.
Become Ann-Elisabeth's colleague!- I used to work as a Credit Manager in the consumer lending industry, and although it's very educational, in many ways it's not a job I envisioned myself getting old in, says Ann-Elisabeth. However, I have found that in Tietoevry. The industry we're in, the services we deliver, and the energy I get from my colleagues make me see myself staying here for a long time.
We believe Ann-Elisabeth already has more than enough energy, but we'll come back to that.
At Tietoevry, she works as a Senior Project Manager within the Banking business area and is involved in the rollout of a new banking system known as NX Core.
- This project involves a whole host of developers and team leaders, in addition to maintaining a good dialogue with the banks that will use the systems. So, there's plenty for a project manager to keep their fingers in.
It is precisely the interpersonal side of the job that Ann-Elisabeth likes best.
- I like to talk to people, get them engaged. That's where I make my most important contribution.
The systems Ann-Elisabeth and her team are involved in rolling out are critical to society. Without them, all economic transactions for many of the country's largest banks would stop.
- We're working with core systems, and that makes the job somewhere between exciting and at times nerve-wracking. I like that, I feel that we're doing something important.
In addition to the systems being important, the rollout of new systems is urgently necessary.
- Some of the systems we're now replacing are from the 1970s, and there are hardly any people who can maintain them any longer. Besides, it will be cost-saving to use the new systems.
In the few years Ann-Elisabeth has been at Tietoevry, a lot has happened. She has, among other things, moved up from Project Manager to Senior Project Manager.
- I have also switched projects and become part of the management team in NX Core. There are so many opportunities in such a large enterprise as Tietoevry, so it's just a matter of seizing them. You also get all the opportunities to receive training and support to tackle new challenges.
The role of project manager was such a challenge.
- I did study a Bachelor of Management at BI, but I had never worked as a Project Manager before Tietoevry gave me the chance. With good support, I have mastered that role.
It's not just Ann-Elisabeth's career that has a high pace, speed is a central part of her free time. She jumps on her motorcycle as often as possible.
- I tried a motorcycle for the first time as an adult during the pandemic, and I was immediately hooked. Now I ride both to and from work, but also on longer trips during vacations or afternoon rides in the local area.
But those who think Ann-Elisabeth is a slacker who only moves forward with engine power must think again. She has as much energy in her as the motorcycle.
- I set a goal to run a marathon before I turned fifty, and have completed the Oslo marathon. I will repeat that in 2024.
The motorcycle hobby, running, and being a mother of four undoubtedly take up a lot of time, without affecting the job.
- Tietoevry facilitates employees to have a rich life alongside work, and I think they benefit from that. I get a lot of energy from my hobbies, which means I have even more to give at work.
