TietoEVRY has been recognized for leadership in corporate sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its prestigious ‘A List’ for tackling climate change.
08 December 2020
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a non-profit organization that aims to help businesses and government get a better overview of their own climate impact. It publishes a global yearly ranking of companies’ environmental status with a global framework. Both former Tieto and EVRY have had CDP and climate related activities high on their agendas already before the merger. Now, after a year of joint operations under TietoEVRY, the company’s efforts to tackle climate change have been recognized with an A list ranking.
The rating measures how good companies are at reducing and reporting CO2 emissions. For former EVRY’s part, the A list ranking is achieved fifth consecutive year. These good results provide motivation for continuous focus on climate actions in the new company.
”We’re extremely proud our hard work in this area has been recognized by the CDP ranking. The impact of digitalisation in reducing their climate footprint is an opportunity many companies have not yet considered. Additionally, digitalisation creates good momentum for increased environmental handprint, in other words the positive impact on the environment. It's an area we can work on, together with our customers” , says Ida Bohman Steenberg, Head of Sustainability at TietoEVRY.
"The work doesn’t stop here. As a part of our upcoming sustainability game plan for TietoEVRY , we will continue to investigate and measure how digital solutions and products support our customers in decreasing their carbon footprints in addition to working towards our own climate targets.”
A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess these companies, allocating a score of A to D- based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets. Those that don’t disclose or provided insufficient information are marked with an F.
