We stand with Ukraine – supporting children’s well-being

24 July 2024

Tietoevry has around 2,000 employees in Ukraine. Supporting the safety and well-being of our employees and their families in the midst of the devastating war continues to be our top priority.

As part of our commitment to stand with Ukraine, we have also recently extended our support to two Ukrainian organizations that focus on the physical and mental health of children affected by the war:

- Tietoevry joined the emergency aid effort through Tabletochki Charity Foundation for critically ill children of Ukraine who were in the country's largest children's hospital, Ohmatdyt, when it was struck by a missile on 8 July, 2024. The foundation aims to ensure the continuation of effective and uninterrupted treatment for the children who are currently battling cancer in other hospitals across Ukraine, and need specialized diagnostics, medical procedures, expensive medications, and palliative care. Our thoughts are with the young patients and their families affected by this tragedy.

- Tietoevry contributes to the ‘BarvaMy’ (‘ColorUs’) project, led by the NGO ‘Young Initiative’. This art therapeutic project focuses on regaining the mental health of children and adolescents affected by the war in Ukraine. The project particularly aims to help those from the occupied territories, including both evacuated children and those who still reside in their homes. By providing a series of art-therapeutic online sessions, guided by a professional team of child psychologists, psychotherapists, and child supervisors, the project supports children in overcoming stress and trauma, and maintain a resourceful state of mind, even under adverse external conditions.

We remain deeply concerned about the safety and well-being of our colleagues in the country, and sincerely hope the war and suffering it brings to Ukrainian people would end the soonest.
